Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek in the Annapurna Foothills is the most thrilling trek Nepal has to offer the trekkers. The trek is possible all year round, but the ideal time to do it is between March through May and from September to November to enjoy better mountain views and cool temperatures. A moderate level of fitness is required for this hike however, it is not necessary to have previous trekking experience. To kick off our journey, we will drive to Pokhara. The scenery from Pokhara is absolutely phenomenal with some of the world’s highest mountains. We can go on a boating in different lakes or explore caves. We can also visit World Peace Pagoda or David’s waterfall if we enough time.
After a wonderful day in Pokhara, we will leave for Nayapul in a private vehicle and trek to Ulleri. The trek will on dirt road alongside stream. We will enjoy views of mountains peaks in the beginning but as we continue it disappears but we can still enjoy beauty of green hills surrounding villages. We have to climb steep stone steps to reach to Ulleri.
Today, we will climb through meadows, cultivated fields and rhododendron (laliguras) forest. We can also enjoy different species of birds during our journey. After we reach Ghorepani, we can see incredible panorama view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri etc.
We will leave Ghorepani before sunrise and hike upto Poon Hill for the sunrise. We can enjoy sunrise over the Annapurna range. We can observe the peaks turning from pink to gold as the sun rises up in the sky. After observing sunrise we will continue our journey and trek to Tadapani and end our day there.
After a witnessing a wonderful sunrise, we will trek to Ghandruk village. It is quite a large village and the view of Annapurna range from the village is magnificent. We will trek along a parallel ridge with incredible scenery along the path.
On return journey starts from this day as we will return back to Nayapul and drive back to wonderful Pokhara city where we will spend our night.
For the final day, we will fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara.
